Residents in Ballyheigue and surrounding areas can use their tap water normally again after Uisce Éireann confirmed the notice has been lifted.

Repeated tests over the past fortnight returned clear results, and the network has been flushed and disinfected. Businesses that were forced to close kitchens or buy bottled water are being told they can reopen fully today.

Local councillors have welcomed the news but called for a long-term investment plan for the scheme, which has been affected several times in recent years.
